Copacabana conjures up the image of the Brazilian beach that reverberates the world over. The neighborhood is located near some of Rio's greatest tourist destinations like the Sugar Loaf, Corcovado, Guanabara Bay, Flamengo Park and Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Open air competitions of the 2016 Games would be held in Copacabana, including cycling, beach volleyball, aquatic marathon, rowing, canoeing, triathlon, walking, cycling and sailing.
