The Deodoro Sports Complex, located in the West Zone of Rio, was erected for the Pan-American Games, and is already outfitted with Olympic-standard installations. More than 2,500 square meters dedicated to equestrianism, hockey, modern pentathlon, shooting and archery.

During the Olympics and Paralympics, archery, horsemanship, shooting, modern pentathlon, mountain bike, slalom canoeing and BMX competitions will be held at the Deodoro Military Circle, a Brazilian Army installation. Inside the complex, the X Park, a centre for radical sports, will be built for the latter three disciplines. The facility will be a legacy for the youth of the area, and will facilitate radical sports development long after the 2016 Games.
